OACS and Related Organizations

The OACS has been a non-profit corporation since 1981 and is directed by a board of directors of ten Canadian citizens elected by the member schools in Ontario.

The OACS is the oldest (1952) and largest independent school organization in English-speaking Canada. It is located in Ancaster, Ontario, part of the “steel city” in Hamilton.

The OACS works closely with the following professional organizations:

  • Edifide Christian Educators Association
  • Ontario Christian School Administrators Association

    The OACS is a member of three other associations.

  • Christian Schools Canada – 137 schools: 27,000 students
  • Christian Schools International – 420 schools: 90,000 students
  • Independent School Associations of Ontario (ISAO) – 360 schools: 75,000 students
