| Alliston Community Christian School | In late summer or when the grain crop is ready, the Alliston Community Christian School will be having a fundraiser for the Canadian Foodgrains Bank. George Zondervan, father of ACCS' principal, Garry Zondervan, is walking across Canada to raise money for the cause. |
| Sarnia Christian School | The school community met at the school on Sat., May 24th from 10:00-1:00 to give out cans of pop.(some was purchased and the rest was donated by student families). They made signs and wore school t-shirts. The first hour was...interesting. The only people who would stop were the ones asking for directions to a garage sale. They decided to be a little more aggressive and moved closer to the sidewalk on one side, and right next to the intersection on the other side, so they could catch people at the red light. They managed to give away about two-thirds of the pop that they had, as well as enjoy a fun morning in the sun-they were so glad it didn't rain! |
| Stratford and District Christian School, Sebringville | The store, Giant Tiger, has been a supporter of SDCS for a number of years, donating hot dogs, etc., to the school. Beside the store is a waterway that has become quite littered, to the point that the store was going to hire someone to clean it up. As a thank you gesture, and part of the school's Good Neighbour Campaign, the Grade 5 and 6 class with some volunteer parents has offered to do the work. On Friday, May 30, they will pick up all the litter. |
| During the past month GDCS students, teachers and parent volunteers have spent class time baking cookies, squares, etc. These will then be compiled into gift baskets with a thank you card and on Thursday, May 29 they will be distributing to such places as the police station, ambulance, canadian legion, public works, etc. It seems to have been a big hit with the students, especially when it came to licking the bowls! | |
| John Calvin Christian School, Guelph | Each student will write a letter or draw a picture to thank the local firefighters for their work. The letters and drawings will be presented to the Fire Chief at a chapel on June 6, 2003 |
| Timothy Christian School, Williamsburg | During the week of May 12 -16, students asked their families, friends, and neighbours for donations of non-perishable food items for a local food bank. On May 16, they brought the items to the foodbank. |
| Trenton Christian School | The whole school participated in the musical, Charlotte's Web, and invited the public and area Christian schools to attend the afternoon performances free of charge. |
| Community Christian School, Metcalfe | The school community did a clean-up of the village of Metcalfe, picking up garbage from the various streets, parks, and along the creek all the way through the village. The grade 7/8 class did the creek and it was a highlight for them (an old bicycle was found). Fortunately the weather was warm and sunny as spring dips in the creek can be cold! They collected 25 bags of garbage and 10 bags of recyclable material. |
| Renfrew and District Christian School | Operation Fresh Start: Students filled 13 boxes with hygiene supplies for poor families in Eastern Europe. These are part of 1,500 boxes being delivered to Serbia by EuroAid. |
| Wellandport Christian School | The grade 8 students will be picking up garbage along a section of road that passes by the school (about 3 km) |
| Dunnville Christian School | Each year, the town of Dunnville hosts a MudCat Festival. This year we hope to set up a booth in Central Park where there will be lots of activity. The students will be involved in free face painting and will be handing out a rose or a sucker with the school's name. We will also have flyers and brochures to be handed out. |
| Immanuel Christian School, Aylmer | The school community cleaned up the town. JK cleaned the school yard, grades 1-6 cleaned various parks, the grade 3/4 class cleaned the roadway, and the grade 7/8 class planted trees, mulched and cleaned flower beds. The work was done in co-operation with the Town's Works Department. It was a great success. |
| Beacon Christian Schools, St. Catharines | We decided to change our Family Fun Night into a Fair and we sent flyers to as many neighbours and community people as possible. It was great! We had the largest crowd for this event ever. We had bouncy inflatable castle and a dunk tank and pony rides, etc. Everything was free except for the dunk tank and supper was a loonie. |
| Trinity Christian School, Burlington | Many of our staff and students participated in the “Great Ride’n’Stride Cancer walk/bike ride this past Sunday in Waterdown ON. Our grade 5 particularly was represented, in support of their classmate, Jordan Moxam, who is battling Hodgkin’s Disease. Last year’s total was $13,000 and this year’s was $21,000. |
| Ebenezer Christian School, St. Thomas | The school community held a free car wash along with free refreshments at the school. Twenty-five cars were washed. a laminated card was given to each participating driver explaining why the school was doing this. |

This year Immanuel is inviting Durham Regional Police to participate. And of course, we’ll have a live band! But the really spectacular part comes as darkness falls and the fantastic fireworks begin! Immanuel Christian School is really looking forward to showing what a Good neighbour it is. |

| "Spruce
Up Sebringville" Students and staff at Stratford and District Christian School went out into the community of Sebringville and raked the yards of local residents who needed a hand. From the notes of appreciation received, the school is truly recognized as a "good neighbour." |
|
| Holland Marsh District Christian School, Newmarket | Our school was part of a Christmas parade in the town of Newmarket and we won most original float. We were dressed as pioneers and had black antiques like a spinning wheel and an old-fashioned Christmas tree etc. and about 30 kids looking cute as little freezing cold pioneers. We handed out candy canes with the story of the cane and our School name and phone number were prominently displayed on the card. We handed out 2,000. We were given a trophy and attached it to the front of the truck and two parade volunteers walked in front of our truck with a sign saying we won Most Original Float. We were pleased with the unexpected win and prayed before we handed out the candy canes and the rest is in the Lord's hands, whether anyone calls the school. |
| Rhema Christian School, Peterborough | "Serving
Those Who Serve" The primary students are planning to do some baking. Each week a different primary class is going to learn to bake with the assistance of a parent volunteer. The final results of the project are going to be packaged up and delivered to various "offices" of those men and women who serve professionally in the community of Peterborough. One class will deliver their offering to the fire station, another to the paramedics, etc. |
