Timothy Christian School prepares spring musical
Friday April 20, 2012 -- Jennifer Neutel
Staff and students at Timothy Christian School in Barrie are preparing for its annual spring musical.

Called “Esther-Ordinary Faith,” the musical tells the Old Testament story of Queen Esther set in Persia in the 5th century B.C.

“Musical productions are an engaging way for students of all ages to build confidence in their singing, acting, and communication skills,” says Grade 4 teacher Sarah Smith, in a press release.

“Faith-based musicals such as ‘Esther-Ordinary Faith’ give students the chance to dive into a fascinating Bible story that encourages personal faith growth, to learn about Biblical settings, and to connect the themes of Old Testament stories with our present day lives.”

There are 150 students in kindergarten to Grade 5 involved in choirs, 20 senior students in two casts, and a variety of students participating in dancing, solos, and technical set-up.

Everyone is invited to the premiere Thursday, April 26, at 7 p.m at 750 Essa Road in Barrie. Grandparents and Grand-friends will see a performance on April 27 during the school’s Grandparents’ Day festivities.
