OACS News Service
Let’s build our own media People now turn to their social networks to see how their friends and family react to current events and get advice, transforming how people connect with one another and do business. The OACS News has always been engagement-based, connecting with members for interviews and constructing a narrative based on that conversation. But we know many OACS members are already producing their own content and media. We’re thinking about items like principal’s messages in weekly newsletters, press releases, video clips, podcasts, blogs, and even Twitter and Facebook accounts. Are your students creating their own media, or would they like to? Now it’s time to leverage that great content and build the OACS News together. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be on a discovery journey, looking to connect with every member school to begin the process of finding out what’s already being created and explore ways to work together. Once we’ve had these discussions, we’ll be creating more dynamic distribution platforms where you can engage with us, share your news and we can curate and make meaning of what we’re seeing across the independent schools movement. Excited to get involved? Reach out to us and share your content. Let us know if you’ve got people at the school interested to engage in an inquiry this year, where the OACS News asks a set of questions and you use your own communication channels to contribute content. We’ll be writing about a half dozen more articles exploring this new communications forum and topics of interest over the coming weeks. Keep checking this site, sign up for the OACS e-news and follow the new Twitter account @OACSnews to stay updated. If you’re on the OACS e-curriculum site consider joining the OACS News group for ongoing conversation. I look forward to connecting and co-creating together.
