The grade 7/8 students at Alliston Community Christian School hosted their school’s first Art Cafe last week. They invited the community to come and enjoy various art projects created by the students, from Junior Kindergarten all the way up to grade 8.
The gallery featured foil embossed pictures, primary colour-splatter paintings, autumn and winter acrylic paintings on canvas, ‘Mindcraft’ portraits, lion masks, watercolour paintings, a study of Ancient Greece display, and a Medieval castle display. The grade 7/8 students were in charge of planning the logistics of the art work and the flow of the displays in the room.
Students also played the role of hosts on the evening of the cafe, offering an abundant supply of coffees, flavoured teas, and sweets to their guests, and answering any questions they had about the various projects. All in all, they were pleased with the number of parents and community members who came out to enjoy their artwork, and their teacher is looking forward to hosting the event again next year!
